3.12.2010...

Why does Myla have on this shirt???
What would cause a look like this on Michael's face???

WELL....

I have been patiently waiting to tell all of my blog readers some news, and now I can finally say it. On (or around) March 12, 2010, our family of three will become a family of FOUR!

That's right...

We're Pregnant!!!!!

We are so excited to share this news and so grateful to the Lord that He would bless us with another precious life! We heard the heartbeat on Monday, and Dr. Williams said that everything looked great. I will certainly keep everyone updated with the progress as we go to the doctor each month. I mentioned I had been a blog slacker this week, but it is mainly because I am already experiencing that lovely exhaustion and nausea that only pregnancy can bring. I got some medicine for the nausea which has been a great help, so I am very thankful for that.

We would greatly appreciate all of your prayers for the development of this little one!

2 Year Stats...

Yesterday we had Myla's 2 year check up, which is SO hard for me to believe! Here are her latest stats:
Weight: 28 lbs. 10 oz. - 75% percentile
Height: 35 1/4 inches - 90% percentile
Head circumference: 46 cm - 50% percentile
Dr. Molly said she looks great! The only thing that she found was that Myla has a slight heart murmur. She said that it does not concern her at this point, but that we will need to keep listening to it in the future just to make sure. Again, I am so thankful for a healthy little girl!
In the waiting room, Myla kept her eye on the door waiting for Nurse Lindy to come get her. She acts the WORST when they are weighing and measuring her. Don't ask me why, but you would think they are torturing her!
"Oh, good, they called somebody else's name!"
I was trying to find something to entertain her, so I pulled out my Ipod...it was about 5 minutes of good dancing, but then she was on to something else.
Several people have asked me about her hand. It is doing great! The blisters are finally starting to pop, but the skin under it is good skin, so this hasn't seemed to bother little miss priss. You can see the blisters on the tops of her fingers.
Always on the move. She was running into the other room and then running out yelling "peep eye!!!".
Love this face!!!!

Visit from the James'...

I have been such a blog slacker this week, but I wanted to update several things. Last Friday and Saturday we had a wonderful visit from Ben and Laura Leigh James. Bro. Ben was the pastor at Michael's home church when Michael was in college, so we got to know each other a long time ago. Bro. Ben married us almost seven years ago, and he just married Michael's sister, Mary Jennifer and Spencer back in December. We have always been close with Bro. Ben and Laura Leigh and so much time has passed since we have actually gotten to sit down and visit with them. We enjoyed their visit SO much. We laughed and laughed, which is always a wonderful thing to do!
Thanks so much for coming to visit us Bro. Ben and Laura Leigh. We will have to make our way to Prentiss soon!

Let Them Eat Cake...

Today Grace and Robbie came over to eat lunch and play. After lunch, they had some of Myla's birthday cake that was left over. I think Robbie enjoyed it the most! I couldn't resist putting these pictures on here...
Three peas in a pod!
Grace and Myla enjoying their dessert!
Robbie REALLY enjoyed his!
I mean, I guessed he liked it!!!!!
Is he not the cutest thing you have ever seen!

Myla and Her New Toys...

Myla got so many fun toys for her birthday, and she has enjoyed playing with them so much. She has especially enjoyed the new baby doll that Mimi and Bodie gave her. She has played with it the majority of every day since she got it. I love to watch her little imagination run wild as she takes care of her baby...
Meet Olivia....Myla's new baby doll.
Feeding the baby doll breakfast
She is still hungry!!
Putting her down for a nap...notice she gave her the pink dog. I mean, who can sleep without it?
About to change her diaper!
Putting powder on the baby. Myla even got the pillow off her bed to put the baby on to play with her. I guess she needed a soft place to lie down!
Baby Olivia in the eating chair.
**Note to self...buy some newborn diapers! Looking how big that diaper is on her! Myla didn't seem to mind.
Yesterday Myla got all dolled up as you can see. She loves her new baby doll diaper bag, and she carries it just about everywhere. She put this ensemble together all by herself!
Don't forget Cookie Monster!
And from the back.....
So sweet...last night Daddy and Myla were reading her new Bible Story book that Papaw, Macy and Maggie sent.

Swimming Party...

Tuesday we had Myla's birthday party with her friends. I didn't get a ton of pictures because we were in the pool and then busy eating and opening presents! Myla and all of her friends had a great time and really enjoyed swimming. The weather held off, thank goodness!
The only picture I got of Myla in the pool. She loves to "swim" in the water with her floaties on!
I was so happy with how the cake turned out. It was SO cute! If you need a cake in Oxford, go to Emileigh's...not only are the cute, they are delicious!
Myla enjoying her lunch, which pretty much existed of Cheese Puffs!
Clapping after everyone sang Happy Birthday.
The best we could get for a group picture. There are several missing, but we tried our best!
Myla and Grace playing with the new baby doll's diaper bag and accessories.
Mrs. Laura and Myla
Thanks, Mrs. Laura for letting us have the party at your house! We cannot thank you enough!

July 13, 2009...

The sequence of pictures below sums up the way we spent Myla's actual birthday...
We made plans to go eat lunch with Katie, Grace & Robbie, but when the monsoon hit, we decided that we didn't want to get all the kids out in the rain. Myla was disappointed since I had already told her we were going to meet them, so she kept asking, "Where's Grace?" and "Where's Robbie?". Here is Myla looking at the rain as I was trying to explain that we couldn't get out because of the bad weather.
Getting a better look...
"All I've got to say is that you and Mrs. Katie need to get over it and let me play with my friends!"
-Myla
Since we didn't get to eat lunch with our friends, we just had a simple lunch at home.
Things started looking up after naptime. The rain had stopped, so I took Myla to Holli's Sweet Tooth, which was in the original plan, to get her "birthday" ice cream. Myla was so excited to eat her ice cream.
"Thank goodness that rain stopped so I could get my sugar fix!"
This is Myla's new way to eat an ice cream cone...from the bottom up!
Here she is demonstrating!

Mrs. Holli even gave her a balloon for her birthday, and Myla was all smiles!
After Holli's we headed to church, so Myla did get to play with Grace and Robbie after all!

Family Birthday Cookout...

I can't believe that the time has come so fast, but Myla is 2!!! Saturday night we had a cookout to celebrate at my parent's house. We had a great time despite the oven like conditions outside! Thanks so much to mom and Frank for doing so much to have this party! Myla had a great time, and it was so nice to have our family together for it.
Sae Sae and Myla watching Henry fish
Myla was a little taken by the whole fishing experience...she wanted a fishing pole so she could join in the fun!
Peyton reeling in Henry's fish!
Myla got so many fun presents. She LOVES Cookie Monster and was so excited when she opened this one from Mimi and Bodie.
I'm not sure what happened in this picture, but I love everybody's face! Notice Myla is still hanging on to her "cookie monser" as she calls him.
Flashing a big smile with Sae Sae and Granddaddy
Myla is a bit of a "bag lady"! She loves any kind of bag. Here she is sporting her new suitcase from Aunt Be and Uncle Doc as well as a purse that belonged to my mom's sweet friend, Lynn.
Myla and Henry playing with Myla's new cash register
Do you know how hard it is to photograph children!!!! This is about the best I could get.
Myla and "Big" Mimi

Myla blowing out her candle. She blew it out the first time before we could sing Happy Birthday, so this was actually the second time!
Enjoying her cupcake.
Notice she is just eating the icing!
