Seems to be a new habit...

I posted last week about Myla crawling under the ottoman...well, it seems that it is becoming a habit. While she was playing Sunday afternoon, she crawled under and played with Oskie. She loves to get under there, but not so much coming out. She hasn't figured out that she can't sit up straight under there and it really upsets her. Also, she has a hard time crawling out without bumping her head on the edge. And, of course, she does not want our help getting out. She is a little Miss Independent...I have no idea where she gets that from!

First Injury!!

Myla had her first injury that drew blood this weekend! Bless her heart! She got unbalanced while she was playing and fell against a plastic bin that has a bunch of her toys in it. She got the side of her nose and cut it. She cried and cried. I know that it hurt, but I am sure that it scared her as well. I can't really get a good picture of it, but you can see it a little bit in these pictures. It actually looks worse now because it has a thick scab on it! Oh well, I'm sure this will be the first of many "boo boos".

Chocolate Animal Crackers Make a Mess!!!

Myla has really taken a liking to chocolate animal crackers. She eats them faster than I can give them to her. Anyway, they make a big mess, but she loves them! Here she is after her snack on Saturday afternoon!

Why Buy New Toys?

We have all these toys, and what does Myla choose to play with on Friday morning...her old bathtub seat. She pulled it out of the bathroom and proceeded to get in it and watch TV and read. She had more fun playing with it until she tried to stand up and walk while she was still in the chair. That caused a little frustration, but I helped her out of it and on she went to the next thing!

CHUCK-E-CHEESE!!!!

Well, today I guess I was just a glutton for punishment! Katie, Grace, Robbie, Myla and myself struck off to Tupelo to do some Christmas shopping. Yes, you heard me right...Christmas shopping. Nothing extensive, just a project that has to be done in advance. I can't give too many details since some blog readers will be the recipients of these gifts. Anyway, after we did our "shopping" we went to Chuck-E-Cheese for lunch and play. Myla and Grace are obviously a little too young for a place like this, but they actually ended up having a good time. Neither of them took a morning nap, so I was a little worried...especially about Myla considering she normally sleeps an hour to an hour and a half in the mornings. Anyway, if Myla's eyes could have gotten any redder, they might have caught on fire. She was SO sleepy!! I told Katie that I have probably experienced enough Chuck-E-Cheese until Myla is at least 3!!! Needless to say, Myla was pretty worn out. She fell asleep on the way home and slept over two more hours after we got home. Poor baby!

" Myla, do you like the pink jeep?"
"Not really, Mom"
"I'll just watch Grace!"
"Aren't my pigtails cute?"
" I like this better."
"Mom, this is kind of a bad angel."
Grace is hanging on tight!
"I wonder what these are?"
" Basketballs...these look like fun. My Bodie would be so proud!"

"You go first, Grace. Let's see what you got!"
"Grace, the floorboard of the Monster Truck is great!"
" This is fun!"
"Robbie, you'll be big one day and can do the fun stuff with me and Grace."
Sacked out on the way home!

Where's Myla??

One of Oskie's favorite resting places in the house is under the ottoman. Well, yesterday Myla was playing on the floor and I turned my head for just a second. When I looked back, I didn't see her, but as I kept looking I saw her little foot sticking out from under the ottoman (see first picture). She had decided to find out what was so great about Oskie's resting place. Yes, Oskie was under there too! He quickly scooted out as she got closer to him. I thought it was funny that she lifted up the skirt and crawled under there to see what was going on. Little minds are so curious!

Dog Days of Summer...

We had a big day Saturday at my aunt and uncle's pool in Tupelo. Mimi, Bodie, Myla and I went for the day to relax at the pool. Peyton and Henry came over later, and we had so much fun! Myla did great considering she didn't have a morning nap. She absolutely loves being outside, and she actually liked the water! Here are some pictures from the day...

Eating lunch with Bodie before getting in the water!
In the swim ring. She like it for a little while, but eventually she wanted to get out of it. I guess it kept her too confined.
She liked sitting in this chair float much better! It gave her more freedom to play with her toys.
Playing with Bodie

Henry getting his "muscles" on.
Henry in his NY Giants float that Bodie gave him last weekend. He loved it outside of the pool, but don't think about making him get in it in the water!
Relaxing in the rockers!

BUBBLES!!!

Last Friday night, Michael and I ate supper outside because it had cooled off considerably! While we were eating, Myla played with her new bubble blower that she got for her birthday. She loved carrying it around and watching the bubbles come out. It was great entertainment while we ate! I thought these pictures turned out cute.

Fun With Grace...

Last Friday, Myla and I spent some time with Katie, Grace and baby Robbie! My friend, Katie, is like a supermom getting out that little man and going and doing with no slowing down! She is incredible! We went to Holli's Sweet Tooth to get the girls some ice cream. They put the tiniest scoop of ice cream on the tiniest little cone, but, of course, Myla would have nothing to do with it! She cried when the lady handed it to her. Maybe she is already starting good eating habits! She finally did carry around just the cone for a little while, but she wouldn't eat it. She and Grace played and played while we were there and had a big time!

"Here you go, Mom. You can have it back."
Big girls playing....
....and playing.
Concentrating on something really hard!
Grace decided to help Mommy and Daddy look for some houses in the Home Guide.
They kept getting out little pieces of chocolate out of this bin. Katie had to buy a few pieces after Grace starting biting into them...paper and all!
