Recent Randomness (is that a word?)...

I don't know if "randomness" is a word, but it is the only word I can think of to explain this post....lots of random things!
Corn on the Cob...
Last night was Myla's first time to experience corn on the cob! She loved it after she got the hang of it. She started off by trying to eat the ends of the cob, but she finally realized to turn it sideways and eat it. I think she would like corn again really soon!
"What do you mean I need to turn it around...I think I am doing just fine!"
"See, Daddy, I am getting some off the end...and it tastes pretty good!"
"Oh, this is what you mean?"
"Yeah, I am getting the hang of this!"

Look at this big girl...
Where did our baby go? Yesterday, Myla was sporting a big time mullet, so I thought I would try to pull her hair back in a ponytail. It made her look so much older!!! I just had to share!

Peek-A-Boo...

Where's Myla?
There she is!!!

Myla's New Trick...
So the below picture is Myla's new trick. When you ask her to smile, this is what you get....
Isn't that hilarious!

Fun with Crayola...
Yesterday, I decided to let Myla try her hand at coloring. I had this big piece of white paper left over from an activity at church Wednesday night, so I thought it would be good for her to color on and not worry about her coloring on everything in sight! She had a great time scribbling!

Eating with a big spoon...
At Myla's 18 month check up, Dr. Molly told me to let Myla start trying to feed herself with a spoon. The other night we were having spaghetti, so I stripped Myla down to a diaper and let her try it out. I think she ended up with more on herself than in her mouth! I know she will get there eventually....

Bringing Some Order...

I was so fortunate this past weekend to have my in-laws and my parents keep Myla one night a piece. It was a much needed break and allowed me to get some things done around the house that I have been wanting to do. I have really been wanting to organize several places in my house and as anyone with a toddler knows, it is much harder to do these sorts of things in their presence! I just had to share pictures (embarassing as they may be) to show off my hard work!
The Guest Room Closet
I will start with the worst place in the house! This closet has been a disaster virtually since we moved in! The guest room has been referred to on more than one occassion as "the store room". It has been my goal to clean it up for sometime now, so I decided this would be my first place to take on! The room is still full of things to be donated, but once that is done, it should all be cleared out. My main goal was the closet....so here you go...
Guest room closet BEFORE...
...and AFTER! I am so excited!! I am SO sorry Mr. Guest Room Closet...I promise to never let you be treated with such disrespect again!

Master Bedroom Closet
While I had closets on the brain, I decided to tackle mine and Michael's closet as well. It is unfortunate to say that it had gotten almost as bad as the guest room closet. I guess this one is just a little bigger so it handled all the junk a little better! I didn't touch any of Michael's clothes since his side pretty much always stays pretty tidy. It is said that "opposites attract".

BEFORE....
and AFTER.

Kitchen Pantry

I decided next to move to the kitchen pantry. It was a little disorganized to say the least. I didn't actually have to throw a lot away, just get it in some type of order. I was getting tired of opening it up and not knowing where anything was or what I even had for that matter. So....
Top of pantry BEFORE...
and top of pantry AFTER!

Bottom of pantry BEFORE....

and bottom of pantry AFTER!
This leads to a whole new story that I'm sure no one cares to know, but I was tired of digging my pots and pans out of my smaller cabinets, so I decided to move them into the bottom of the pantry where the shelves are taller and deeper. I like it much better although I still go to the wrong place when I need something, then remember that I moved it!
Okay, boring post, but I am just so glad that this got done that I had to share!!!!

Whirlwind Trip to Arkansas...

Well, Myla and I took a little whirlwind trip this past Tuesday with my brother to Yellville, Arkansas, to see our little sister, Maggie, play basketball. Peyton called me Tuesday morning to tell me he was going, and I told him that I wanted to go to. He picked me up and off we went...six hours away. And yes, we took little Myla with us too! Considering she has never travelled that far, she did really well. We only stayed one night and wished we could have stayed and visited a lot longer! It was so good to see them! They had no idea Myla and I were coming, so they were quite surprised!
Myla at the ballgame...she was so excited to be out of the carseat after 6 hours. She only slept one hour!!!
I don't think she really knew what to think at first, but she really like watching everything taking place. She soon got restless, and I had to let her run around a little bit!
Here is Coach Myla putting in her two cents during a time out!
Acting like the big kids!!! She is really into imitating everything you do these days!
Mommy and Myla! Peyton was trying new settings on his new camera.
Myla and Maggie after the game. They won, by the way.
This is Jayce, my cousin Eleanor's little girl. Can you tell she enjoyed her blue ring pop?

Wednesday morning, Myla was up early....5 a.m. She didn't go to bed until 10:15 p.m., so her getting up early did not surprise me! My dad's church is hosting a group at their church called the Southern Baptist Chainsaw Ministry. Sounds kind of crazy, right? Well, it is a group of men and women that are in the area helping with all the damage that the recent ice storm did to the area. They chopped down limbs and trees and cut up fire wood. Well, my dad has been going and cooking breakfast for them each morning at 5:00 a.m., so Myla and I decided to join him, since we were up and going! Everyone was glad to see her and talked about how much a baby could light up a room. Isn't it the truth? They just make you smile!
See, doesn't that cute fact just make you smile? We didn't take the time to get dressed, as you can tell!
Myla really enjoyed playing in the candy bowl. It kept her entertained for a long time! Taking it out, putting it back, taking it out, putting it back...you get the picture!
She also went around and offered everyone a piece! She is a giving little thing...I hope she stays that way! She always wants to give you some of what she has.
She also enjoyed playing the piano. Maybe she will enjoy doing that later in life!
Okay, so Myla got a taste of how every McCormack child grew up...going to the local coffee shop/breakfast spot with Deddy, now Papaw, and visiting with everyone. Peyton did it; I did it; Maggie did it; now Myla got to experience it. Deddy used to take us in our car seats every morning! Everyone really enjoyed getting to see her!
Papaw let Myla play with his phone anytime she wanted! She loved it!
My child also loves ice! I don't know if I have mentioned that before, but her she is chomping down on it with Aunt Maggie!
Here was the whole gang. I told them I was taking a picture for my blog, and someone said, "Did she just call us all blobs?" Ha!
After bathing and getting dressed, Myla and Maggie continued to play. Myla loved the blue Powerade!
"Hey, Papaw. Do you think I can see your phone again?"
"Thanks!!! This is the life!"
Pay Pay and Myla playing with the duct tape....
Who knew neon oragne duct tape could be so fun?
Still playing with Aunt Mags.
Is she too cool for school or what?

Myla did much better on the way home....she slept almost the entire way! She was worn out!!!!
Going....
Going....
Gone!
I know this post was extraordinarily long, but I wanted to document all that we had done on our quick trip!
