Catching Up...

It's been awhile since I have updated...I don't know why! I mean, in all of my extra time I have been sitting around watching TV and eating bon bons! HA! Things are going fairly well. Selah has reflux, which has been very difficult!! Bless her heart, she is just in pain after she eats and she has been screaming off and on all day. I have felt so helpless just watching her hurt. She finally got put on Zantac yesterday, and she has had a much better day today, praise the Lord! I hope we are on the mend, although I expect many hiccups with this along the way, since I have heard stories from other parents whose children have been through this. Although it has been stressful and exhausting to deal with, I am still so grateful that she really is a healthy baby and this is something that can easily be treated.
This is going to be a long post, but I'm just going to break it up to let you know what's been going on with us lately!

"Playing"
Myla is so ready for Selah to be big enough to "play". She, I think, is now fully adjusted to being a big sister, and she is a great one! This morning while I was getting ready, I had Selah on her playmat, and Myla laid down right beside her to read to her. It was so sweet. She kept saying, "Okay, Selah, once upon a time..." and then she would proceed with a made up story. So precious! I love how it looks like Selah is paying full attention to Myla! And yes, Myla does have on a bathing suit with her panties under it as well as her fashionable bracelets on her ankles! Lovely!

Smiles
Selah has been smiling in her sleep since right after she was born, but she has now started smiling with her eyes open, and it simply melts my heart everytime I see it happen. We haven't seen too many smiles the past several days due to her fussiness with the reflux, but I have been capturing them with my camera for the past week or so...

31 cent Scoop Night at Baskin Robbins
This past Wednesday night Baskin Robbins had a 31 cent scoop night for the Fallen Firefighters Association, so we headed out to the Baskin Robbins by our house to indulge! Myla tasted Bubble Gum and Cotton Candy flavors and decided to go with Cotton Candy!
Happy girl with her purple and pink ice cream!
Going...

Going....

Whirlwind Trip to Jackson
Wednesday of last week the girls and I headed to Jackson to attend a surprise birthday party for our friend, Steven. We had planned on staying until Friday, but Myla was a holy terror, so we came home on Thursday. It was a CRAZY trip, and although I was sad to leave Tamah and Abby, I was glad to get home because Myla had been acting terrible, and she went back to her normal self once we got home. Anyway, I did get to see a lot of people that I haven't seen in awhile incling Matt and Bethany Murphy and their children, Ava, Emmaline and Samuel. Here are a few pics of the kids...
Ava, Samuel, Abby, Emmaline and Myla
Can you believe they all sat there and looked at the camera?? Amazing!

Don't let the smile fool you...I'm telling you, she was BAD!

Thank you, Mrs. Susan...

I LOVE my new play mat!!!

Who Knew...

Who knew that a baby bathtub made the perfect place for a living room picnic? The other night, Myla told me she wanted to have a picnic in the bathtub, and she just thought it was the greatest idea. She sat in it and ater her supper just like it was exactly what the bathtub was to be used for! Silly girl!

Mama Said There'd Be Days Like This....

WOW!!!
What a day we had yesterday! It all started out normal. We woke up and got ready to take Myla to Mother's Morning Out at 9. When I dropped her off at the church I went in to give Selah a bottle since I had some errands to run, and it was time to feed her, I just did it there instead of coming back home. She was really fussy and squirmy during her bottle, which I thought was weird, but I wasn't too concerned. I ran my errands and then Katie and I met for lunch at Kabutki, which I was excited about! I can't take Myla there because she is terrified of the big flame and the whole cooking on the table thing. Well, around 11:15, right after they put the food on my plate, Selah started crying....so much so that I had to get my food in a to go carton and leave. I picked Myla up and came home...Selah was screaming the whole time. I was thinking she was just hungry, so I fed her as soon as we got home. She would not take her bottle and she continued to scream. Long story short, she literally screamed NON-STOP until 3:00 pm. At that point, she didn't really quit completely...it just became more off and on. I called the pediatrician's office at 3, and they didn't call me back until after 5. Thank goodness our pediatrician is a friend, so I called her and she told me to come to her house because it was not normal for her to have screamed that long. I began to panic because I could tell that Dr. Molly seemed concerned. Selah's temp was 100.1. Molly was in a meeting when I called and she said that if her fever went up to 100.4 before she was out of her meeting, then we needed to go to the ER. That is when I really got nervous. We finally went to her house about 8:30 (she has still been crying most of this time), and lo and behold, she has an ear infection. It is quite uncommon for children this young to have one. We went to the clinic this morning because Molly wanted to get a blood count, which turned out elevated, but normal due to the ear infection. I am so thankful that it is just her ear because I realize that it could be a lot worse. I am so thankful for healthy children. I got almost physically sick last night thinking what would I do if something had been seriously wrong with Selah. I know God would give me the strength to get through it, but I just can't even imagine how hard it would be to have a seriously ill child. I was mentally and emotionallly exhausted last night after holding a screaming baby all day, but so thankful that I have a baby to hold!
Myla at the doctor's office. She was truly happy we weren't there for her! She was so sweet to Myla and kept telling her, "It's okay, Selah, don't cry" when they were pricking her finger.
Sleeping peacefully until all the excitement began. She did really well though! By the way, she is up to 10 lbs 3 oz! She has gained 2 pounds since her two week check up!

For Your Viewing Enjoyment...

My friend, Robyn, came and took pictures of the girls the other day. I love how they turned out, and here are my favorites!!!
Enjoy!! I know I did!

I think she'd had enough!!

Pictures...

My friend, Robyn, came over this morning to take some pictures of the girls. I can't wait to see how they turn out! Since Selah was already dressed up, I snapped a few pictures with my camera as well. Here are a few of my sweet baby!
Sweet sleeping baby
She slept pretty much the whole time we took pictures.
Sleepy smile....love them!
After Robyn left, Selah was bright-eyed, of course! Myla wanted to "play with her" so I got a few pictures of them together.
I still can't believe I have two girls! I love them so much!
Singing to her
Just thought this picture was a crazy one of my wild child!
Sweetest smile in the world (in my opinion)!
