Interesting Couple of Days...

Myla and I struck off to Jackson on Monday to visit our friends, Tamah and her little girl, Abby. We were also going to have lunch with some friends on Tuesday, but unfortnately Myla got a touch of the stomach virus. The day started off really well. Abby was so excited to see Myla, and they played together and had a lot of fun.

Myla even enjoyed her first experience at swinging!! She was a little unsure at first, but she soon started smiling and having a good time.
After her afternoon nap is when things went downhill. She woke up fussy and wouldn't eat, but I didn't think much about it considering we were in a new place and all. She spit up a couple of times, but again, I didn't worry about it too much. Well, about 6:30 that night, she had a big throwing up episode which scared me half to death. Thank goodness for Tamah and Danny remaining calm and helping me take care of Myla!!

This is Myla after she got so sick. She was like a little limp noodle, and she couldn't hold her eyes open. Bless her little heart!!
I am happy to report, though, that she is on the mend and feeling much better!!

Fun at Firestation No. 1!

Well, today was an exciting day! We got to go to Henry's 3rd birthday at Firestation No. 1 in Tupelo. The party was so much fun! All the kids got to play on and in the firetruck. They even sounded a siren and wished Henry a Happy Birthday. I think it scared the kids more than excited them!! Everyone got fire hats, badges and pencils. Little Myla wasn't left out. She even donned her hat and badge and sat in the firetruck to have her picture made as you can see from the picture above. Henry got lots of presents, and he enjoyed opening every single one! He definitely knew that he was the birthday boy, and that the presents were HIS. Happy Birthday, again, sweet Henry. We love you!

Good news and bad news...

Good news first...

Myla has said goodbye to the sink tub and hello to the big tub!! Last night she took her first bath in the big tub, and from what I could gather, she seemed to really enjoy it. She is playing with her only two "tub" toys since we have not needed any until now....we will have to get her some of those soon. I was trying to show her how to make a splash, but I think it scared her more than entertained her!!

Now for the bad news...we went to the doctor today after I could tell Myla wasn't feeling very well, and we found out that she has an ear infection. So now, we have started antibiotics and ear drops, so hopefully it will clear up quickly and she will be her happy little self again. Even when she doesn't feel well, she still tries her best to smile, but just not as much. We would appreciate your prayers for her a speedy recovery!!!

A Whole New World...

Myla is experiencing a whole new world by sitting up in the grocery cart at Wal-Mart! She is certainly a people magnet since she likes to smile at everyone she sees. Obviously she thinks my purse strap tastes pretty good too. It is so fun to watch her grow and experience new things!

See Myla Smile...Hear Myla Laugh!

I thought eveyone should hear this precious laugh...hope you enjoy!!!

Drumroll Please.....

Ladies and Gentleman....
After 7 months of little to no hair and being called a boy over and over by innocent people at church and in stores, we finally have a HAIR BOW!!! Thanks to our friend Katie that gave us some velcro hairboys that are quite effective at holding minimal pieces of hair in place!!

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dressed up and ready for church!

We had a great Sunday at church today. Someone even told Michael tonight that they thought Myla was the "favorite" in the nursery because she smiled all the time!

Sis Sis has been requesting a picture of Myla in a dress with socks and shoes on, so here you go...

Have a great week!

Visiting the Grandparents...

We went to Batesville today to visit Michael's parents. Of course, they were so excited to see Myla. His sister and grandmother were there too, so we had a great time! Myla really enjoyed "visiting" with their two dogs through the backdoor. She loves dogs and gets SO excited anytime they pay attention to her! By the end of the day, she was pooped!
Also, Happy late Valentine's Day to everyone! I cut out some hearts for Myla to play with in celebration of her first Valentine's Day, but she tried to eat them, of course!

First time blog experience!

I was speaking with someone yesterday about what a good idea it is to have a blog with a young one. That way, everyone can keep up with what is going on in our lives. I hate that I haven't thought of it before, but I guess it is never too late to start. As hard as it is for me to believe, Myla is seven months old today. She is growing and changing everyday. For instance, today she finally sat up by herself for a long period of time. I was worried about it yesterday, and now today, she just does it. It was like she was saying, "I could really do it, Mom, I just wasn't ready until now!"

I hope this will be a great way for everyone to check in on us. Please keep in touch!
