Bittersweet….

If you have read my blog for any length of time, you have heard me mention one of my best friends, Katie, many times (as well as her children…Grace, Robbie and Charlie).  God has brought changes in their family over the last several months.  The biggest one is that her husband, Mark, accepted a new job in Booneville, which is close to Tupelo.  He has been commuting until they sold their house, and it finally sold.  They are moving to Tupelo this week.  I am so sad that she will not be in Oxford anymore.  I know we will still talk numerous times a day, like we do now, but it just won’t be the same.  Katie and I became good friends after our oldest girls were born.  We are both stay at home moms, so we spend lots of time together so our kids, who all dearly love each other, can be together.  I think the saddest thing about the move is that our kids won’t be playing together as much.  Grace and Myla are like sisters!  I know God has great plans for their family, but it is still hard to see them go.

Friday we had a little lunch get together with some of Katie’s friends at Boure…YUM!  We had fun laughing and talking together.  Katie even brought a picture of what she looked like when she moved here in 1995.  Let’s just say that she’s come a long way! HA!!  Jennifer and Katie are together in the picture above.

All of us!  I love all of these girls!  I’m so thankful and blessed to have such Godly girlfriends in my life.

I hope and pray that each of you reading has a great girlfriend or girlfriends in your life!  Katie has been (and will continue to be) someone that I can call and talk to about anything, cry to, get advice from, pray for and ask for prayer, laugh with, shop with, bounce ideas off of, chase kids like crazy with, etc.  I am so thankful for her, and I look forward to seeing how God will strengthen our friendship over the years.
