A Good Reason to Finally Update….

So, I’m not going to offer any excuse as to why I haven’t updated the blog because there really are none, but I have a good reason to, so here goes…

WE GOT A COURT DATE!!

We are actually leaving for Taiwan next Thursday for our first trip (we have to make two)!  We will get to spend the entire week with Ramsey while we are there (pinch me), and we will have court on May 24th.  After court, there is really no way to know when we will be able to go back to bring him home.  It depends on how long it takes the court to issue all of the documents that must be issued and how long it takes our government to issue his visa to come home.  It could be one to five months after court.  Let’s all pray that it is very quick, okay?  Thanks!

So, I am going to try and do better with the blog.  I don’t think it’s ever been this long. I really don’t know a way to “catch up”, so I’ll post a few quick pictures here (totally random ones), then I’ll just try to jump back on track!  Of course, they are all from my phone because I never carry my camera anymore!

I guess it’s been about two months ago (didn’t record the date….oops!), but Myla lost her first tooth!

IMG_1909

Then just a few weeks later, she lost her second one!  As you can see, the permanent teeth were already well on their way in!  Can’t believe she’s this big!

IMG_1779

I think my Facebook caption for this one was, “My sunshine on a rainy day!”

IMG_1831

Sweet Grace turned six in March.  Simply unbelievable!  Believe it or not, Myla is four months younger than Grace, despite her height!

IMG_1848

Naps with Selah these days are hit and miss, at best. She has nothing to do with actually getting in her bed to nap, because she realizes Myla doesn’t nap.  So if she does fall asleep, it’s like this…

…or this…

…or this!

IMG_1864

I had a momentary lack of sanity one day and let the girls take their shopping baskets in Wal-Mart.  They did well and loved it!

IMG_1861

Homeschooling is still going well!  Selah LOVES to do school too!

IMG_1867

Pretty girls on Easter Sunday!

IMG_1878

We finished up a wonderful year at our homeschool group, Classical Conversations.  I feel so extremely blessed to have been a part of this community this year!  This was Myla’s “class” and her tutor, Mrs. Allyson!

IMG_1964

We have two new pets at our house…sadly, I cannot remember their names at the moment.  Ha!

IMG_1986

Check out these two ginormous snakes Michael killed in our backyard several weekends ago. GAG ME!  I HATE snakes and may be a bit psycho scared of them.

IMG_2004

I love how when I dress the girls they say they don’t “look cute”, but when they pick out their own outfits, they think they are the best looking things around.

IMG_2003

I’m sure this will just get worse with time…

IMG_2087

Last Friday night I got to go eat with Katie and this little cutie!  I can’t believe how quickly Abby is getting!

IMG_2075

Myla loves, loves, loves to fish at my mom’s house with my brother, Peyton.  I loved fishing growing up as well, so it has been fun for me too!

IMG_2078

Even Selah got in on the action this time!

IMG_2105

This picture cracks me up.  Selah LOVES getting her teeth cleaned, can you tell??

IMG_2138

My cousin, Olivia, gave the girls gift certificates for Christmas to have their nails done.  We finally got around to using them, and the girls loved it!

IMG_2143

Waiting patiently for her nails to dry!

Sometimes I’m glad my mom is a semi-hoarder (she saves everything) because I get to see my girls in my old dance costumes!  Ha! This is their new favorite past time at my mom’s house.  Believe me, there are some doozies to choose from in the costume department!

Selah is 3!

We celebrated Selah’s 3rd birthday last Saturday with a Minnie Mouse/Breakfast/PJ party!  Selah woke up in the WORST mood that morning, which is unusual because she normally wakes up very happy.  Oh well, she seemed to have a good time after it was all said and done!

I had to change out the chalkboard to celebrate Selah!

The party table all ready minus the balloons!

DSCF2325

My sweet friend, Hilarie, who is an awesome graphic designer, made the cute invitations as well as these little tags to attach to the favors!

DSCF2327

And, of course, I had to make a special door hanger to welcome the guests!

DSCF2335

Smiles were not easy to come by before the party started, so at least I got this one!  If you are wondering about the Minnie head, we borrowed a Minnie Mouse costume, so Minnie could make an appearance at the party!

Mimi with the birthday girl before the party started!

DSCF2345

A sweet girl from our church, Brooke, dressed up as Minnie (the head never made it on her b/c some kids were a little spooked out!).  Charlie knows Miss Brooke, so he was so happy to see her!

DSCF2347

This was Selah’s face most of the morning.  ha!  Myla, as you can tell, thoroughly enjoyed herself at the party!

DSCF2348

We were SOOOO excited to see the Buckleys.  We miss them so much!  Grace and Myla are practically grown, and then there is sweet baby Abby!

DSCF2351

Since it was a breakfast party, we decided to do a “do-nut” cake versus a traditional birthday cake!  There were no complaints!

DSCF2355

All the sweet friends!!  Sweet little Remi on the end wore her hat.  I was so happy at lease ONE child did since it took me six hours to make them.  HA!!

DSCF2359

Finally got a smile (albeit somewhat fake) with Minnie!

Selah pinning the bow on Minnie!

Myla getting ready to take her turn!

DSCF2367

I think she was quite proud of herself!

Grace and Myla.  Everyone had left at this time and they were playing school!

I still cannot believe Selah is three! I know it sounds cliché, but time really does fly!  Even though she is my spitfire, sassy pants girl, she brings so much joy and laughter!  Happy Birthday, Sweet Selah!

TOT at the Globetrotter’s!

A couple of weeks ago, Myla got the chance to perform with her TOT group at halftime of the Harlem Globetrotter’s game in Tupelo.  It was such a great experience! She had been looking forward to it for months, so she was so excited when the time finally came!

After the performance, they gathered at half court to have their picture made with the Globetrotters.  Selah deleted the video of the performance off my phone, so unfortunately I don’t have that to share.  :(

All the TOT stars with the Globetrotters…who are hilariously entertaining!

Mrs. Amy and Myla

IMG_1602

Myla had quite the fan club at the performance.  Henry and Peyton were there, and of course, all the kids had to have a sno-cone during the second half!

IMG_1608

Can you guess what color Selah’s was??

IMG_1609

All the kids with Peyton.  Selah was still showing off her tongue!

IMG_1611

Sis Sis also made the trek over…she doesn’t want to miss anything the kids do!  I hate I didn’t get a picture with Mimi and Bodie, but they were there too!!

TOT…

In the fall, Myla (and Selah) began a program at Mother’s Morning Out called TOT…Teams of Tomorrow.  It is a basketball skills program (kind of like little dribblers), but they also do fun learning games and activities.  They love going and have loved Mrs. Amy, their teacher, so much!  Mrs. Amy is actually Myla’s first employer!  Myla goes early each week and helps Mrs. Amy out with the 2 year old class!  She loves going to “work”!  Back in January, they had their first TOT performance.  Myla was so excited about it!  It was in New Albany at a high school basketball game (boy, did that gym, even the smell of it, bring back lots of memories!!)

IMG_1281

So thrilled to go to her performance…seriously she was bouncing off the walls!

Getting close to performance time!

DSCF2299

Finally on the court!!!!  Myla was so excited!  I wasn’t sure how she would do once the time came because she can be a bit apprehensive about being in front of people, but she did awesome!!!  We were so proud of her, and she was so proud of herself!

DSCF2295

Mrs. Amy does TOT all over North Mississippi, so there were lots of classes combined, so it was fun to see so many kids participating.

They have another performance coming up at the end of this month at halftime of the Harlem Globetrotters game in Tupelo!   I’ve always wanted to see the Globetrotters, so I’m excited about getting to go to the game.  Myla performing at halftime is just icing on the cake!

IMG_1289

On a totally unrelated note, on the way home from the performance, Selah at an apple.  I noticed that she had been eating on it for quite some time, so I asked her to give it to me. This was ALL that was left!  She was mad that I didn’t let her finish it!
