Blast from the Past!

Well, the time has finally come....I have now been out of high school ten years!! Man, how time flies. This weekend, we had our class reunion. We had such a good time seeing each other and remembering old times. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

YES, SHE IS MY CHILD....

Okay, so I have probably subjected Myla to more television that she should probably have, but SHE LOVES TV!!! Finally, she DOES have something of mine!! Although she might not look a lick like me, she might have some of my interests. Obviously, the love of television is not one of my most admirable characteristics, but oh well...she is her mother's child!
Here are a few pictures of her transfixed this morning...
Obviously Oskie doesn't find these furry puppets quite as interesting as I do!

Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street??

Wow...those Teletubbies sound really funny.

No, Teletubbies...please don't go!!

More Videos

Myla has figured out how to play peek-a-boo with us by covering her face. She was using her cup in the bathtub the other night to do it. She is too funny!

Michael taught Myla how to give him five the other night. She now does it everytime you ask her too. She is getting SO much more interactive, and she is remembering so many things. She is just so much fun!

NO TUBES!!!

We went to the ENT today, and thankfully, Myla does not have to have tubes!!! I am so relieved! She has had several ear infections, but none of them have been real severe. She is still generally happy when she has one, just a little more fussy than usual. Dr. Dye said that hopefully with the weather turning warmer, we can avoid any infections in the near future. He went ahead and told me all about the surgery just in case she does still continue to have ear infections. At that point, he said we could just schedule surgery rather than me having to come see him again. Thank you for your prayers!! Myla was such a ham at the doctor's office. All the nurses and staff just thought she was so cute and funny. Dr. Dye got a kick out of her too, and Myla really liked him. When he came in and sat down, she reached out her arms and gave him a hug! It was the cutest thing!!!

We have a crawler!

Myla is really finding her way around! She crawls to something if she REALLY wants it. Otherwise, she just scoots about. She gets where she wants to go, but it is not always pretty. I thought you might enjoy this video of the proper crawling form.

It might just be my imagination, but I think Myla is starting to recognize and remember songs. Now, when I sing "If You're Happy And You Know It, Clap Your Hands" she will start clapping her hands. It is so cute!!

This and That...

We had a great weekend, and we hope all of you did as well. We are LOVING this beautiful weather! I just wanted to share a few pictures from yesterday and today.

This was Myla when we got in from town today. We had been to see our friends Katie and Grace. Myla and Grace played and played! I think Grace wore Myla out! I am going to have to teach Myla how to sit more "lady-like" while in her carseat!
Myla was so happy when she got up from her nap this afternoon! There were lots of photo ops, but I thought this one was extra cute. She loves this book that my cousin, Olivia, gave her. It has pictures of her and other family members. She will just look at it and chuckle. I really don't appreciate that when she is looking at my picture. :)
This is Myla and Michael all ready for church on Sunday. We had a great day at church as our paster challenged us to ask Jesus to teach us how to pray like Him! I think we all desire that, but personally speaking, I fail to really ask Him to do that for me. Our pastor is wonderful and so challenging!!

Just thought these two were cute in black and white.
Can you say bad hair day? This is what Myla's hair looks like when she gets up from a nap. Michael thought this was funny, so he snapped the picture. I promise I do try to comb it down!

I am going to add a few videos of the day too...look for the next post!

Bless Her Heart!!

I had my camera ready this morning, so I could capture the look that I get every morning as I go into Myla's room to get her up! She is the happiest little thing in the mornings...well really all the time, but especially in the morning.

We went to the park today to see some friends at lunch. We played and played on a blanket and then we made our way to the swings. Myla seems to really like swinging! She was so funny though, because she was leaning all the way forward in the swing, and it looked like she was skydiving! My friend figured out that she thought she was looking at her shadow on the ground. We have such great stay-at-home moms and kids that we get to spend time with during the week! So much fun.

Now, the bad news. I took Myla back to the doctor today because she has been acting a little extra fussy, and sure enough...another ear infection! Bless her heart!! This is her fourth one since December, so we are scheduled to see the ENT here in town next Tuesday. I will keep you updated as to what we find out, but I am assuming tubes. YUK!!!

Future Yankees Fan?

My step-dad just returned home from New York City after going there to watch Ole Miss in the NIT tourney. He also went to a Yankees game, and did some shopping! He brought Myla a Yankees onesie and bib! It is so cute, and she sported it for the first time yesterday! We just wanted to say thanks to Bodie for our gift straight from the Big Apple.

Happy Birthday Papaw!!!

We want to wish Papaw (Deddy) a Happy Birthday!!! We love you and miss you and can't wait to see you! I tried to get some pictures with Myla holding a sign! Of course, giving an eight month old a piece of paper and trying to get a picture can prove to be quite difficult! I was trying to get her to smile, not fall off the couch and not eat the paper! Here are a few that I got! We love you, Deddy, and hope you have a wonderful birthday!

Put me in coach....

Myla has developed quite a fondness for my Gatorade water bottle. I gave it to her one day in the car because I was caught with no toys on hand, and she loved it! She was playing with it today, and I thought of the song, "Put me in coach, I'm ready to play"! I think of how many times I have sipped on a water bottle during basketball games. I wonder if this is a foreshadowing of the future with Myla! Michael and I wonder if she will like sports. I guess we will just have to wait and see!
