Yellow Rain Boots...

One warm day last week, Myla and I got in the backyard to play. She wore her yellow rain boots since it was a little muddy out. I just couldn't resist putting these pictures up because I thought they were so cute! She isn't doing anything special...just exploring the backyard...one of her favorite things to do!

Playing Dress Up...

Last weekend me, Susan, Kristen and Katie all went yardsale shopping. We had so much fun getting up early to get the good deals!! One thing that we found was a little trunk that had dress up clothes in it. Susan found it and bargained with the lady. I got 3 dress up outfits plus the trunk they came in for $1! I love yardsaling! Anyways, I didn't think Myla would be real interested in them, but when I showed them to her, she kept saying "on" and trying to take the clothes that she had on off. So, we gave it a try and she loved it. She pranced and twirled around putting on a big show! The outfits are still a little big, but I am sure she will have lots of fun with these in the years to come!
"How do I look as a princess fairy?"
Twirling around feeling pretty good about herself!
"Hey, Daddy! Don't I look beautiful?"

I Don't Know About You....

But I couldn't feel prouder???
Can you sense the sarcasm?
I mean, seriously, this is not what I want to see the leader of the free world doing. Not to mention the completely inappropriate dress that Michelle Obama wore on the cover of People last week. I don't know about you, but to me the first lady shouldn't wear a dress that reveals her bare skin all the way down past her breasts. Okay, sorry, I'm done. You all know me well enough that I have to vent every now and then.
I'll probably get some heat from this....

Sprucing up the Front Door...

Last weekend while we were in Tupelo, I saw the cutest door hanger in my brother's neighborhood. I knew that I wanted to make one for our door since my arrangement I have had for the last 3 years has seen its better days. I finally got around to doing it today, and I love how it turned out. It just looks spring/summery to me! Just thought I would share. Out of ALL the canvases I've done, Michael said this one was his favorite that I have ever painted...go figure! I'm glad that he likes it....

P.S. If you are wondering about the "training bootcamp" that I mentioned in my earlier post, I am going to write about it tomorrow...I'm too tired tonight!

You Know When It Gets Too Quiet Things Can't Be Good...

Today, I was cleaning up our dishes after lunch, and I realized that Myla got really quiet. When I went to check on her, I found her, the couch, and the floor covered with my loose makeup powder. I didn't think to get a picture of her, but just imagine about half of the container on her brown shoes.... Bless her heart, she knew she had messed up, but she just looked so innocent. She still got in trouble!! I did think to take a picture of the mess for the blog...you know me...always looking for "bloggable" moments!
You can imagine that the canister to my vacuum cleaner is white!
You can see by the pictures below how concerned Myla was about her incident. Don't ask me what she was doing, but she certainly seemed carefree! Maybe some interpretive dance??

Grace Comes to Play...

Tuesday we got to have Grace over to play while Katie went and had lunch with her Bible study small group. I would like to say that we had lots of fun and Myla was a sweet girl, but unfortunately, she wasn't. Grace was near perfect, as always, but Myla was a little heathen. This behavior that she exhibited has led to a whole new way of thinking around this house. We have started "training bootcamp" as of yesterday, which has already made a world of difference. I will post more on this separately. Until then, here are pictures from our day with Grace.
Grace and Myla enjoying some books.

Is this funny or what? Grace still uses her pacifier occassionally, so I guess Myla felt the need to get one too. We have one of baby Ellyn's at our house so that if Robyn ever forgets to bring one, we have an extra here. Myla was claiming it as hers on Tuesday. Notice the pink dogs as well. Grace has one too!!
I thought this picture was too cute.

Tupperware...

the oldest, funnest toy around...oh, and the paper plates are just a fun extra!
