Prayers Appreciated...

Well, it has been a crazy 24 hours for the Meurrier family. Yesterday morning, Michael's dad, Mr. Joe, went in for a heart cath because he had been having chest pains, shortness of breath and pressure. Well, they took him into open heart surgery almost immediately after the cath. The main artery that forks off of the heart (sorry for my lack of medical terminology) was 99.99% percent blocked. They said that surgery could not wait. Amazingly, another artery had grown and re-routed the blood around the blockages. That was the only reason that he had not had a massive heart attack. God is amazing in his creation of the human body!!! We are so thankful that he went to the doctor to be checked out because if he had had a heart attack, the doctors said there is a very good chance that it would have been fatal. Mr. Joe is in great physical shape and eats very healthy, but unfortunately, heart disease runs in their family. Therefore, he knew since he was having trouble, he needed to have everything checked out. THANK GOODNES!!!

He is still in ICU and will remain there until tomorrow. He is doing very well except the Decadron (sp?) they are giving him gives him the hiccups. Michael has this same crazy "allergy", but anyway, as you can imagine, the hiccups are very uncomfortable for Mr. Joe with the incision in his chest. I went in to see him this morning for the 9:00 a.m. visit, and he was in pretty good spirits considering all that has happened. He is still trying to figure out what all is going on because he was never really awake after having the cath. He didn't know he had even had surgery until he woke up! I will keep you updated, but in the meantime we would really covet your prayers for:

1. no hiccups so he can rest comfortably

2. a speedy recovery

3. no infection

4. rest and comfort for Mrs. Sandy

5. a good frame of mind for Mr. Joe and that he wouldn't worry about things

Dancing Machines...

Ole Miss vs. South Carolina....

This past Saturday, Michael and I went to the Ole Miss game vs. South Carolina. This is only our second game to go to even though we have season tickets, but we always enjoy going when we can. It was HOT, but I survived and didn't melt, and much to Michael's shock, I didn't even buy a coke! He even said that he couldn't believe I made it without a drink! Anyway, even though the Rebels lost, we had a good time!

Out of all the Ole Miss games we have gone to together, we have never had a picture made together at one. Anyway, here is our "classic" stadium pic with all the people in the backgroud. The only thing I am missing is some huge sunglasses! :)
We saw Shep Smith too...he was getting some honor from the Alumni Association. He looks like he is having a good time!
We also saw the obscenely ginormous jumbotron. This thing is literally massive. The picture doesn't do it justice. It is a good thing we can see it well because our tickets are so low that we can barely see the field over the cheerleaders! This jumbotron comes in handy!

Speaking of Needing the Dentist....

The other night I was eating a Tootsie Roll Pop, and Myla was very interested in what I was doing. I thought I would let her try it to see what she did. Well, she pretty much knew exactly what to do with it, and she loved every minute of it. After she was done (I didn't let her eat the whole thing...just a few licks) we went straight to the tub. She was a sticky mess.

Anyway, just thought it was cute! Now, Susan Ruth, will you fill all of my daughter's cavities in a few years?

Daddy's work...

After we left the dentist today we ran by Michael's work. It was a great time to go because it was pretty slow in the clinic that early in the morning. Myla loves to go by and visit because she gets lots of attention from all of the trainers. Here are a few pics from the visit!

First Visit to the Dentist...

This morning Myla had her first dental appointment! It actually was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Don't get me wrong, we had our fair share of tears shed, but the visit was quick and easy. I had a concern about a tooth that I thought was coming in behind her top front teeth, but Dr. Perkins told us that her bottom tooth is hitting the roof of her mouth and causing a callous to form, and that is what we are seeing. He did clean her teeth and put flouride on them, and we will go back in six months. I hope Myla doesn't have to spend the amount of time in the dentist chair that I have spent in my life! If that is the case, we better go ahead and add "dental fund" to the budget because we are in trouble!!

They had so many cute toys in the waiting room. I thought the "Doodle Pro" was a good way to document the day.

You can see how red-faced she was! She did like the toothbrush that he gave her, though, and she chewed on it for a long time after we left his office!

Visit with Cousin George...

Myla and I had a fun day Tuesday when we went to Tupelo to see our newest cousin, George! He is the son of my first cousin, Olivia, and her husband, Rich. They live in Colorado so we don't get to see them that much. He is SO cute, and I loved getting to see him and Olivia! I just forget how tiny little babies are and was amazed at how big Myla looked next to him!
