Photography by Myla...

Myla loves to take pictures with my camera whenever she can. The other day Mimi was here visiting so Myla took it upon herself to snap a few photos. They're really not too bad!
She obviously doesn't work as diligently as I do to get Miss Selah to smile!

Rubber Duckey....

The girls and I went to Jackson last week, and I left Selah's bathtub chair at Tamah's house. Thankfully, another friend of mine, Anna, happened to send us home with some hand-me-down clothes and this inflatable duck bathtub. Selah loves it!! The only thing is that it doesn't leave much room for Myla in the tub, but she doesn't seem to mind!

No, I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, and I can't even say I've been too busy to update the blog...we just really haven't done anything that interesting lately. I promise I will try to get some pictures of the two most precious girls in the world up this week!!!!!!

Godly Friends...

Michael and I are so blessed to have our wonderful, Godly friends, the Graysons! We went to visit them on Sunday night and spent the night. Myla LOVES playing with Annlee and Deuce, so she had a blast. We went to church with them Sunday night to hear a family share that used to be in their church, but are now missionaries in Belize. He was a physician, and they sold EVERYTHING they had...almost all of their worldly possessions to go and spread the Gospel to the lost in Belize...talk about challenging. Anywho, it is always fun to fellowship with the Graysons. We always laugh a ton, and it is awesome to talk about how good our God is and what he is doing in our lives! Thanks, Graysons!! We had a great time!
I just had to show you Myla's outfit that my very talented friend, Tamah, sewed! Too cute!

Saturday morning the non-stop playing continued. They all stayed in ther pj's all morning. Can you tell Myla was having a good time?
This is the face of a very sleepy little girl. It was only about 10 o'clock in the morning, but she was up until midnight the night before!
I have to explain this picture and the next. Chad is always giving Michael a hard time about how healthy he eats. So, Chad decided to try some of Michael's oatmeal breakfast concoction - oatmeal, peanut butter and granola.
Taking a bite...he said he liked it and he is getting very SERIOUS about getting healthy! In fact, he called me today from Walmart to make sure he was buying the right kind of peanut butter (natural). He never ceases to crack us up! Good luck, Chad!

Half A Year...

Dear Selah,
Today you are SIX months old! I truly cannot believe how fast time has flown since you came into our lives in March. It is just crazy! The other night we were all strolling and I looked at you sitting in the stroller, and I thought to myself, "Is that really Selah? She is SO big!!" You are such a joy to Mommy and Daddy as well as your big sister, whom you LOVE! Your sixth month has brought some crazy things. You got tubes in your ears and also had your first visit to the Emergency Room. Other than those two things, you have had a great month!
You continue to be such a happy, content and predictable baby! You smile so easily, especially at Myla and Daddy! You still don't laugh that much...you make us really work to hear a laugh. You are so easy going and laid back, which I continue to be so thankful for.
You have really started enjoying your toys more. You love this singing toy because you can sit up and look at yourself in the mirror and hear the music. You also love your teething rings and books that make a "scrunchy" sound when you touch them. You LOVE your pacifier, and you have just about mastered putting it back in by yourself.
You still just adore your sister! In the mornings when we come get you up, you just look up at her and smile. The other morning I came to get you up by myself and you kept looking toward the back of the bed where Myla usually stands. She wasn't there, and you definitely noticed it! You also love to pull Myla's hair if it is within reach. Of course, she doesn't think that is such a great idea!
You are still sleeping great. You're appetite has been kind of low lately since you were sick, but hopefully it will pick back up. You are not that interested in a bottle right now, but you love baby food! Green beans and sweet peas are your very favorite. You have eaten everything you've been offered, but when you get green beans and peas, I can hardly give them to you fast enough. You will swallow them and immediately open your mouth wanting more! I told Daddy that I'm afraid you're going to have my appetite because, right now, it looks like you are going to really life food!
(Typical picture when I'm trying to get one of you two!)

Selah, you are such a joy, and we love you so much! We can't wait to see the plans that God has for your life!

A Beautiful Day for the Zoo...

Well, today is opening day for college football, so you know what we were doing?? Going to the zoo! My, how times have changed! Michael said the only game he really cared anything about watching was on tonight, so off we went this morning to the zoo. It was an absolute perfect, beautiful and COOL day to go. The weather was wonderful and just put me in a good mood! Myla really enjoyed the zoo this time and made clear that she wanted to see the giraffes and the monkeys. Once we saw those two things, she was good to go.
On the road to the zoo...very excited!
Selah was excited too! She did so well. She fell asleep about 30 minutes after we got there, and she woke up right when we were seeing the last exhibit.
Checking out the giraffes. After she saw them she said, "Okay, now I want to see the monkeys!"
Posing for Mommy
Checking out some monkeys and sea otters...yes, they were in the same exhibit!
I am really having trouble getting Myla to smile naturally in pictures these days....can you tell?
We had a picnic lunch before we left to come home. Selah was glad to get out of her stroller and get some lovin' from Daddy.
Chowing down on her apple.
Selah enjoyed her lunch too!
Daddy loves his girls...
...and so does Mommy!

Coloring in the Lines...

This week Myla and I were coloring together when she looked up from coloring and said, "Look what I did, Mommy." I looked and she had colored within the lines the best that I have ever seen her do it!! The little pink coloring in the bottom picture (they got out of order) is where she did it for the first time. After I praised her over and over, she couldn't get enough of coloring in the lines, and she was just as proud of herself each time she did it. This may not be a big deal, but I was just excited that she finally took the time to color in the lines!
